Portraits

So I probably took about 50 of Duane and many of them his eyes were closed.  The lighting in the background stunk.  The lighting in general was just bad.  I originally thought I wanted to capture his portrait while he was singing that didn't work out so well.  I had to ask him to open his eyes while he was singing which he wasn't so thrilled about.

The lighting stinks - would prefer to crop more.

The lighting isn't great and now as I look at it I wish I had at least his guitar next to him.

My mom has dementia going on.  So I though it would be fun to try and capture her.  The lighting wasn't great because she has the shadow on her face from the brim of her hat.  She was also a difficult model thus I had to take pictures of her in front of the door which wasn't a great back drop.

The girls were swimming thought it would be nice to capture two great friends.   Issue light - The shadows from the branches affected all of the shots.  I like the stones as the back drop for them.

text bending the word

Paintbrush

Original - I cut it out of a big picture with the lasso.  I edited before placing it below.

I trimmed around her head a bit more and next I painted it on a canvas that I painted.  I'm not sure why the first several times when I tried to paint I couldn't.  Was very frustrated.  Started the computer over and watched a few more tutorials.

Patch

Original - wanted to remove the leaves.  Tricky tricky tricky.

I realize it isn't the best but after several tutorials and several times trying.  I am happy that I am learning about these tools.  Think they may have been easier to learn in a classroom setting.  Live and learn.

Clone

Attempted to take the tree out.  Very frustrated with this tool.

Original picture.  Did the mountain in.  The sunset came out ok not great.  Very difficult for me.

Not sure why I was having troubles increasing the font size.  The font size above is 72point.
Went back to work on it and easily changed the color and increased font size.

Photostory

My story is how the family gathers the pumpkins.  The last photo shows the final product of pumpkins on display.

Light and Color Exposure

Adjusted the exposure and color.  Like the deeper blue and the deeper pink - picture could be more in  focus.

Original

Adjust color exposure - love how this one turned out.  The darkness of the green background and the pretty purple and pink.

photo manipulation

tried adding the dog in the other third to offset the flower

Added the flower on the branch.

Learning to cut things out.

Just for fun - the pumpkin and the moon in the field.  Had to re-size both the moon and the pumpkin to fit.  Probably could have been smaller with the moon.

Landscapes - attempt 2

Thought I had added these the other day.  Apparently not.  Love the sunset and the colors on the mountains.  Would have preferred to have more of a cropped shot with this one and perhaps a different angle.
Hit the light at the right moment.  Love how the shadows stand out  and yet you get the golden yellow as well in the fields.

Landscapes

sunset - love the view

I took this a while ago but i love it - the colors of the pretty blue and the light going across the mountain

I love the light - at sunset - the vibrant sky and the dark silhouettes of the mountains and trees
I love taking pictures at sunset if the light is right.   Sometimes the sky is just so magical - it is a love and an appreciation for the beauty.  My favorite thing these days is when my daughters point out an incredible sunset and as they say everyone is always different.

A glorious sunset.
Captured the right light.
