If you notice, the framing starts to work better as you get closer to the frame. In order for the frame to work successfully you must be able to see what you are framing and have the frame in view, whether it's in focus or not. So, the first image of the bridge from a distance doesn't really work that well. As you move closer, it starts to work better and better. Check this out with a whole bunch of other photographs that you take in the future. Take one when you are immediately inspired and then start to move progressively closer to that thing that inspired you and see the difference that it makes as you do this.
